Dear Parent / Carer,

Re: Covid-19 Update

I would like to provide you with an update regarding staffing levels in the school at this unprecedented time.

Since Monday we have had an increasing number of staff having to self-isolate as a result of the measures introduced by the Government. Yesterday proved to be a real challenge in terms of covering classes. Today the challenge has been even greater.

In my communication with you on Monday, I outlined how we intended to prioritise going forward, particularly with those pupils who are sitting external examinations this summer.

Current staffing levels will not cover all classes, so I have taken the decision to close the school to years 7, 8 and 9 as of tomorrow (Thursday 19 March 2020). The only exceptions to this are for the pupils of parents who work in the NHS or education, as we have to support our colleagues on the front line of the Health Service and in schools. If this applies to you, please email so that we know which pupils to expect in years 7 to 9 tomorrow.

My colleagues have been busy preparing online resources for all pupils. Pupils have already been re-issued their usernames and passwords for Show My Homework and can access the OneDrive on Office 365. Detailed information on this will be sent out shortly for each year group.

I will provide you with a daily updates. Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.
