Y10 WBQ week – 1st week after half term

Hello Year 10

I do hope that you and your families are safe and well. We all miss working with you every day!

We have received feedback from some of you and your parents that you are feeling a little overwhelmed with the volume of work at the moment. We have therefore decided that the week after half term, (w/b 1 June) will be WBQ week for all year 10 pupils. During this week you will only be set WBQ work, nothing else.

The overall aim of the week is to submit a first, but completed, draft of your Individual Project to your class teacher by the end of the school day on Friday 5th June.

The PowerPoint and video guidance will be uploaded to SMHW and emailed to you all on Monday 1st June 8.30am by Mrs D Thomas. There is a clear plan to follow on the PowerPoint section by section, accompanied by guidance videos to support you if you are struggling on a particular section. If you have completed the section previously, then please read the guidance, watch the video, make the necessary improvements. then move on to the next one.

Help is available from your class teacher throughout the week via email. The class teachers are:

Each teacher will email their class letting them know when feedback will be available during the week.

We are confident that this week will provide you with a really good opportunity to focus on just one thing and get a really decent first draft of your project completed. Please don’t work on this over half term, as your teachers will not be available to respond to you and provide you with daily feedback. Next week you need to relax and re-charge, then have a really good go at finishing your first draft of your project during WBQ week.

Take care everyone
