Dear Parent / Carer,
Re: Covid-19 Update
Today the school has been open for the pupils in years 10-13 and the children of key frontline workers. Due to our numbers being lower than expected, and to enable staff to fully prepare appropriate work for your child to complete at home, school is closed to all pupils tomorrow, with the exception of the children of key front-line workers.
If you are a key frontline worker and parent of a child in years 10-13, and do not have younger children in years 7-9, please inform us if you child will be attending school tomorrow on email@example.com, so that we can prepare accordingly.
Today, we have had some year 11 pupils arriving at school during the school day to have shirts signed. This is not in line with current advice in terms of social distancing. Any pupil arriving at school from this point onwards today, will be sent home immediately.
I’m sure you are all aware of the announcement made yesterday by Kirsty Williams, Cabinet Secretary for Education, regarding examinations and qualifications for 2020. Many of you have already emailed staff expressing concerns and seeking clarification beyond the words contained in the Cabinet Secretary’s announcement.
I must inform you that schools, currently, have no information, knowledge or clarification beyond what has been reported in the press. We are hoping that this will change as the day proceeds but we have, as yet, no further information. As soon as we do, we will, of course, update you.
We have informed staff not to respond to emails from individual pupils and parents regarding predicted grades and controlled assessments, as at this moment we do not have any answers. Please be assured that we will share information with you as and when we have it via the usual channels.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mr A D Williams
